Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan produced 114,600 passenger in January-April 2024, which is 39.1% more than the same period of last year, the Statistics Agency said.

In January-April, UzAuto Motors produced 41,700 Chevrolet Cobalt cars (an increase of 50.3%), 23,200 Damas cars (an increase of 22%) and 11,500 Onyx cars (an increase of more than three times).

UzAuto Motors also produced 10,950 Gentra cars (a decrease of 47.0%) and 17,170 Tracker cars (an increase of 4.7 times).

In the reporting period, 3,490 Chery cars were produced in Uzbekistan (an increase of 2.2 times), 6,150 KIA cars (an increase of 39.6%), 73 Exeed cars and 230 Haval cars.

According to the Statistics Agency, in the first four months of 2024, 7,670 specialized passenger cars were also produced, which is 6.6% more than the same period of last year.

In the first four months of 2024, enterprises in Uzbekistan also increased the production of automobile engines from 62 thousand to 86.6 thousand units. However, production of car batteries decreased by 24.6%, amounting to 303 thousand units.
