Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first nine months of 2024, enterprises in Uzbekistan produced 278,164 passenger cars, marking a 3.91% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the State Statistics Agency.
In January-September 2024, the production of various car models was as follows: 117,705 units of Cobalt (a 53.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023), 12,837 units of Gentra (a 78.0% decrease), 70,030 units of Damas (a 16.6% increase), 31,197 units of Tracker (a 10.4% increase), and 24,753 units of Onix (a 12.1% increase). It should be noted that all of these vehicles are manufactured by UzAuto Motors.
Additionally, 5,619 Chery cars (a 23.4% decrease), 14,214 KIA vehicles (a 13.9% increase), 6 Lada cars, and 1,803 Haval vehicles were produced during the reporting period.
Furthermore, 18,880 specialized passenger vehicles were manufactured in the republic, representing a 24.1% increase compared to last year.
According to the KPMG Uzbekistan report “Analysis of the Automotive Market in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, the level of car ownership per 1,000 people in Uzbekistan is significantly lower than in neighboring countries.
From January to September 2024, 303,373 vehicles were sold in Uzbekistan, according to Uzavtosanoat data. UzAuto Motors holds an 89% market share in Uzbekistan.
