Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An annual tourism fair, popular among tourists from the Flemish part of Belgium, organized by one of the leading Belgian tour operators HoboRеisen, has opened at the BrabantHall exhibition center in the Belgian city of Leuven.
The fair presents tourist destinations of more than 50 countries of the world. Uzbekistan also takes a traditional part in the event with its national stand, which presents the country’s tourism opportunities, as well as information about the historical and cultural heritage, traditions of the Uzbek people, personified in the exhibited samples of folk art.
The fair was the first tourism event in the Benelux countries in the new year and served as a good platform for the presentation of the tourism product of Uzbekistan. Documentary films produced by TV5 Monde, Euronews and the State Committee for Tourism dedicated to our country are shown at the national booth.
The fair participants welcomed the inclusion of Benelux countries in the list of states whose citizens from 1 February 2019 were given the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without entry visas. Many of the visitors became interested in visiting Karakalpakstan, Surkhandarya and Namangan regions, as well as the traditionally popular Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
Attention was paid to combined tours, including visits to historical and cultural sites and ecotourism areas, as well as agritourism, which implies living in houses in the countryside.
Within the framework of the fair, the Embassy and the travel company “HoboReizen” jointly held a presentation of photographs taken by travelers who visited the republic on a ticket to this company.
The fair in Leuven once again demonstrated the growing interest of the Belgians in Uzbekistan.
