Uzbekistan Premier arrives in Minsk
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has come to Minsk to partake in the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, BelTA reported.

According to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, over the recent years Uzbekistan has ranked fifth in the CIS in the export of the Belarusian products. Since 2000 the trade with Uzbekistan has soared 4.4 times, Belarusian export has increased almost 9 times. In 2010 Belarus-Uzbekistan trade totaled $153.4 million, up 18.4% from 2009. Export totaled $95.1 million, down 10.7%, import - $58.3 million, up 2.5 times. Belarus posted trade surplus of $36.7 million.

In January-March 2011 the trade made up $24.4 million, down 26.3% over 2010. Export reduced by 56.3% to $12.4 million, import went up 2.5 times to $11.9 million. Trade surplus totaled $0.5 million.

In January-March 2011 Belarus’ major exports to Uzbekistan were malt, woodworking products, household appliances, bicycles, tyres and drugs. Belarus imported Uzbek cotton fiber, cotton yarn, mineral and nitrogen fertilizers, grapes and dried fruit.
