Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France paid a working visit to Portugal, Dunyo news agency reported.

During their stay in Lisbon and Porto, meetings were held in the Parliament, the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the city halls of Lisbon, Porto, Ponte de Lima, the university administration of Porto and Minho, as well as with businesspeople and compatriots living in Leiria.

A presentation of the economic potential of Uzbekistan was organized jointly with the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP) and a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the AIP.

Several preliminary agreements were reached during the visit. In particular, in celebration of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan in the city of Leiria, the participation of Uzbekistan in the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon in June next year, holding a business forum in Lisbon, Porto and Leiria.

Following the talks, it was decided to work out and sign an agreement on the establishment of a partnership between the cities of Bukhara and Porto, Tashkent and Lisbon and hold a cultural event in the capital of Portugal on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
