Uzbekistan, Poland to boost trade-economic relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Department on assisting trade and investment of Poland Embassy in Uzbekistan is planning to organize several events in 2012 to develop trade-economic relations between two countries.

The department said that it builds its programme for 2012 based on achieved results in 2011, especially to results the Fourth session of the Polish-Uzbek intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and other events, such as the Third National Poland Exhibition, Polish-Uzbek Business Forum, bilateral meetings of businesses of two states.

The priorities of the Department will be assisting to further growth of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Poland, familiarize potential partners with export opportunities of Poland, promoting Polish goods and service in markets of Uzbekistan, assisting to expand, encourage and development of contact among businesses, boost use of various mechanisms and forms of financial-investment cooperation.

The press release of the department said that it is planned that the department will actively participate with information stands at the exhibitions in Tashkent in such direction as construction, production of construction materials, medicine, chemistry and plastics, machinery and equipment, etc. The department said it hopes that it will attract Polish firms to these exhibitions. The department also plans to prepare catalogues of Polish companies and firms to the exhibitions.

“We are planning to continue positive practice of holding joint events with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. One form of our cooperation is organization of “Open Doors Day” to businesses from various regions of Uzbekistan,” the department said. These meetings are oriented for small and medium businesses and it will allow them to get answers to questions of export potential of Poland and establish contacts with Polish partners, as well as promote their goods in Polish market.

Next year, the department and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan are planning to hold such events in Andijan, Namangan, Ferghana and Jizzakh regions.

The document said that the Department plans to organize a visit of business mission of Polish companies to Uzbekistan in partnership with interested structures of two states in autumn 2012. The mission can participate at the International Industrial Fair and the Uzbek-Polish Business Seminar and Contact Exchange.

The department said it will strengthen information part of its activity. It plans to supply information on current state of economy of Uzbekistan, terms of access and activity in the market through Information bulletin.

The key event in trade-economic relations between two states in 2012 will be the Fifth session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which will held in Warsaw. The session will be accompanied by several events, which will be attended by businesses of Poland and Uzbekistan.

The department plans to organize several visits of large Polish firms to Uzbekistan to hold negotiations, meetings and presentations of their products.
