Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to soften the punishment for certain types of crimes related to the intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.

The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis reviewed the draft law.

The proposed document envisages a reduction in liability in cases where the damage did not lead to significant harm to a person’s health or ability to work. It is proposed to consider such acts as administrative violations.

It is also planned to expand the use of the institution of reconciliation by increasing the number of articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility from 12 to 15.

These measures will strengthen the mechanism of reconciliation between conflicting parties, especially if they are relatives, friends or acquaintances.
