Uzbekistan plans to reduce VAT rate and abolish benefits
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to lower the value-added tax (VAT) in 2018.

On 29 December 2017, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators and parameters of the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2018”.

Uzbek leader instructed to reduce the VAT rate and to cancel the provided benefits, as well as to expand the range of VAT payers.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to prepare a proposal before 1 July 2018.

The President also abolished the privileges granted to enterprises included in the localization programs from 1 April 2018, including those on ongoing projects.

Also from 1 April, privileges granted under corporate income tax, property tax and single tax payment to exporting enterprises depending on the share of exports were abolished.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev until 1 July 2017 instructed to draft a Concept for improving the fiscal policy of Uzbekistan, taking into account the best foreign experience, including those aimed at ensuring the transparency of the budget process.
