Uzbekistan plans to limit the operation of cars that do not meet Euro-5 and higher standards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to take measures to improve air quality. The Development Strategy Center presented for public discussion a draft State program for 2024, focused on supporting youth and business development.

According to the program, from 1 March 2024, it is proposed to inform citizens about the occurrence of dust storms and excessive air pollution.

The government also plans to introduce mandatory requirements for large construction projects (500 square meters or more) to prevent dust and sand particles from becoming airborne.

From 1 March, Uzbekistan also intends to introduce a ban on the movement of trucks of categories N2, N3, O4 during peak hours in Tashkent.

In addition, steps will be taken to gradually limit the operation of vehicles that do not meet Euro-5 and higher standards in Tashkent, Nukus and regional centers.
