Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A moratorium on hunting may be introduced in Uzbekistan, as outlined in the draft of the state program for 2025, which is currently open for discussion.
The measure is aimed at restoring the population of wildlife.
Hunting restrictions could come into effect on 1 September 2025, and remain in place until 1 January 2028.
This moratorium will not affect hunting of wild animals that are kept or bred in farms, nurseries, incubators, fish farms, ponds, and similar establishments, as well as sanitary hunting.
Additionally, starting from 1 September 2025, quotas for collecting and harvesting wild plants, as well as permits for special use of plant life resources, will be issued through electronic auctions.
