Uzbekistan plans to increase the maximum salary accepted for calculating pensions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase the maximum salary accepted for calculating pensions. This is stated in the draft decree of the President of the country "On the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026".

Within the framework of the document, from 1 January 2023, it is planned to increase the maximum salary accepted for calculating a pension from ten to twelve times the size of the basic pension calculation (BVIP).

In addition, if the document is approved and enters into force, then the Ministry of Finance will be instructed to submit a draft law within three months, providing for the introduction, along with a revision of the base value of calculating the pension, the following amendments to the law "On State Pension Provision of Citizens":

- an increase from three to six years of the total time spent on parental leave counted in work experience when calculating pensions for women;

- inclusion in the length of service of the time of caring for children with disabilities from childhood to 18 years when assigning a pension.

- by 2026 to fully cover the needy population groups with social benefits and material assistance.
