Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 February, a meeting was held between the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov and the delegation of the largest German tourism holding company FTI Group, headed by the director for Türkiye and the Middle East, Okay Yildirim.
The guests were acquainted with reforms in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan, diversification of tourist destinations, liberalization of the visa regime, development of transport logistics, as well as incentive measures to support industry entities.
Aziz Abdukhakimov expressed gratitude for the interest in tourism of Uzbekistan and joint cooperation.
“Last year we received about 30 thousand tourists from Germany. This year, the head of state set a goal to increase the flow to 65 thousand. I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able to significantly increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan,” the minister said.
In turn, Yildirim emphasized that Uzbekistan is an interesting tourist destination with huge potential for attracting more tourists from European countries.
During the meeting, issues of opening new flights from European countries to tourist cities of Uzbekistan, showing videos about tourism in Uzbekistan on German channels, cooperation in the field of sustainable development and more were discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct joint PR campaigns, including through the organization of roadshows and B2B meetings, presentations of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the organization of press tours for leading media and bloggers to Uzbekistan.
