Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase the capacity of the Gazli gas storage facility to 8 billion cubic meters. This was stated by Minister of Energy Jorabek Mirzamakhmudov.

The capacity of the Gazli gas storage will be increased from the current 3 billion to 8 billion cubic meters.

The minister noted that drilling is currently underway. Next year, the gas storage capacity will be increased to 4.5 billion cubic meters. Gradually, the gas storage capacity will be increased to 8 billion cubic meters.

“This will be done in 2-3 years,” Energy Minister Jorabek Mirzamakhmudov said.
