Uzbekistan plans to increase supplies of raw oil from Russia in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase the supply of raw oil from Russia to 1 million tons through the territory of Kazakhstan in 2024.

This is enshrined in the corresponding tripartite document signed on 3 November 2023 in Moscow.

The document was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation P. Sorokin, the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Akhmedkhadzhaev and the Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Akkenzhenov.

The agreement pays special attention to ensuring priority transportation through the Omsk-Pavlodar-Shymkent-Shagyr oil pipeline.

The agreement envisages assistance in the implementation of commercial contracts to increase the supply of crude oil to 1 million tons in 2024 and subsequent years on a long-term basis.

The parties also agree on a mutually acceptable price for crude oil and its transportation, taking into account the increase in supply volumes.

This agreement involves the prompt implementation of the agreement between the leaders of the three countries and the development of pipeline oil supplies, taking into account the reduction in the cost of its transportation compared to rail deliveries.

The document also promotes the development of the oil pipeline infrastructure of the Republic of Uzbekistan and border areas, and will also increase the production of gasoline and other oil products in Uzbekistan.

The agreement will expand the network of gas stations in Uzbekistan and ensure stable supplies of Russian petroleum raw materials, facilitating the modernization of oil refineries and the creation of new production facilities with high added value.
