Uzbekistan plans to increase hydrocarbons’ reserves
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz national holding company is planning to increase the volume of reserves of hydrocarbons till 2030.

The company developed “The concept of development of oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan till 2030”, which is directed at further stabilizing and expanding the volume of hydrocarbons’ volume, creating reliable raw base for long-term perspectives.

Corporate magazine of Uzbekneftegaz “Gas and Oil” said that implementation of the concept will allow to increment oil stocks of oil in the volume of 132.4 million tonnes, condensate – 102.6 million and natural gas 2.393 trillion cubic meters.

Uzbekistan plans to conduct 2D seismic works at the volume of 296,600 linear km and 3D seismic works at the volume of 80,200 square km, search, prospecting and paramedical drilling – 5,88 million meters.

In 2011-2030, the basic volumes of prospecting works on oil and gas will be concentrated in oil and gas bearing regions, and within the limits of them – in the most perspective zones. Thus, the important role is allocated to development of initial total resources of hydrocarbons.

The analysis shows that except Bukhara-Khiva region, in all other degree of development on the basic productive complexes does not exceed 35.5%, i.e. for today they are the basic objects for accommodation of volumes of prospecting works for future, the magazine said.

In order to increase production of oil products, currently the programme on exploration works for searching and exploring heavy oils and bitumen within the limits of Korsahly-Dasmanaginsky zones of Sukrhandarya region. Besides, the programmes of exploration works for searching and exploring heavy oils and bitumen in Becharcha field of Surkhadarya region and within limits of Ferghana are under development.

In order to strengthening exploration works and increasing stock of hydrocarbons, active works are on the way to attract foreign investments to economy of Uzbekistan. For this purpose, some 48 investments blocks were allocated in Uzbekistan, including two blocks in potential oil and gas bearing Middle Syrdarya region. The magazine said that 18 licenses for foreign investors were issued and on two joint explorations works conducted by Uzbekneftegaz and investors. The company holds talks on 8 blocks with foreign companies on conducting explorations works. Uzbekneftegaz holds exploration works on 8 blocks.

The magazine said that quantity of removable explored reserves of hydrocarbons of industrial categories made up over 2.5 billion tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE).

Currently explored commercial reserves of hydrocarbons will meet demands of Uzbekistan at existing rates of extraction of gas for 32 years, on oil and condensate – 33 years.

Uzbekistan has significant recoverable forecast (about 8 billion TOE) and perspective (about 2 billion TOE) resources and preliminary estimated stocks of oil, gas and condensate (over 0.6 billion TOE), which will allow annually increase commercial reserves.

Uzbekistan is on the second place on annual volume of gas production in the CIS and on the 20th place in the world.
