Uzbekistan plans to increase gold production to 150 tons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the coming years, Uzbekistan plans to increase gold production by 50% to 150 tons. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology, Azam Kadirkhodjaev, at the Innoprom. Central Asia" in Tashkent.

He noted that Uzbekistan is one of the largest gold producers in the world and currently produces about 105 tons of metal per year.

In April 2022, the discovery of the Balpantau and Tamdybulak fields in Tamdy district of Navoi region was reported. The Muruntau quarry contains reserves of more than 40 million tons of gold ore. It is planned to mine more than 3 million tons of ore per year for 15 years.

In Kyzylkum, a new gold deposit "Chukurkuduk" was discovered in 2021. The reserves of the deposit are 133 tons.
