Economy 07/11/2008 Uzbekistan plans to increase gas export to 25bn cubic meters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will increase export of natural gas from current 17 billion cubic meters to 25 billion cubic meters soon, Uzbek President Islam Karimov said at the press conference after the negotiations with his Bulgarian counterpart Geori Parvanov.

Uzbek leader said that the country currently uses only Central Asia-Center pipeline in export of natural gas and it did not considered any alternative routes.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov said Uzbekistan did not discuss any alternative transportation projects or routes.

However, Uzbek head said that market relations should work in use of electricity energy and no pressure on prices should be avoided.
