Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of Uzbek medical products in the country’s market to 80%. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabaev at a forum held in Tashkent.

He also noted that over the past 5 years, more than 100 new investment projects worth more than US$500 million have been launched in the country. The volume of pharmaceutical production has increased 2.5 times, and exports have grown 5 times.

“In recent years, about 30 original and highly effective pharmaceutical preparations have been developed on the basis of Uzbek plant raw materials. In the coming years, it is planned to triple the volume of production of pharmaceutical products and reach the share of Uzbek medical products in the market at 80%,” Khurram Teshabaev said.
