Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan may start importing cotton fiber from the United States due to the growth of the textile industry in the country.

The Uztekstilprom Association held negotiations with a representative of the American company Cotton Council International. The press service of the Association announced this.

The meeting was a key event after productive negotiations with American companies and organizations.

Led by Neziha Aslankezer, representative of Cotton Council International in Europe, Turkey, Africa and Central Asia, the negotiations became a fruitful discussion of the benefits of American cotton, issues of organizing the import of cotton fiber and its financing, the Association notes.

Cotton Council International, which promotes cotton fiber and products made from it on the world market, is now entering into active cooperation with Uzbekistan. Having representative offices in more than 20 countries and constantly exporting cotton fiber to 50 countries, the organization opened its doors in Uzbekistan.

With the rapid growth of the textile industry in Uzbekistan, the need for cotton imports is growing. In this regard, Cotton Council International opened its representative office in Uzbekistan.

Cotton Council International plans to enter into a number of agreements aimed at developing the potential of local textile enterprises.

A delegation from Uzbekistan is expected to visit the United States to study American cotton and its growing processes and conduct training seminars on selling their cotton products to brands at high prices.
