Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By the end of 2029, Uzbekistan plans to build at least 58 new schools and create over 72,000 additional student places.

This initiative is outlined in a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.

The country’s public education programs and standards will be brought in line with international requirements. The educational process will incorporate competency-based learning principles and the STEM methodology to enhance laboratory-based instruction.

Inclusive learning conditions will be created in schools for 500 children with disabilities. In addition, at least 35,000 teachers are expected to undergo professional development training.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan has been designated as the body responsible for implementing the decree.
