Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to attract US$5.5 billion in external and internal borrowings in 2021. This was stated in the commentary of the Ministry of Finance to the draft law "On the state budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021".

The Ministry of Finance notes that on behalf of Uzbekistan and under state guarantees in 2021, it is planned to attract external and internal borrowings in the amount of US$5.5 billion. 

The volume of external borrowings next year will amount to US$5 billion and internal borrowings - US$0.5 billion. 

Funds in the amount of US$2.2 billion will be used to finance the state budget deficit and US$3.3 billion - to finance investment projects.
