Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to attract foreign direct investment in the amount of US$7.5 billion in 2021, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

At the same time, the country intends to increase the volume of exports to US$17 billion.

In Uzbekistan, by the end of 2020, the volume of attracted foreign direct investment is projected at the level of US$6.6 billion, which will exceed the indicators of the previous year, and the volume of exports - at the level of US$15.1 billion.

The ministry notes that these indicators were achieved through the implementation of large investment projects in the production of building materials, information and communication sphere, electrical, chemical and light industries, as well as a significant increase in the export of goods and services in the textile, agricultural, mining and metallurgical and transport sectors.
