Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan is taking part in the 67th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), held from 14 to 22 March in Vienna, Dunyo news agency reports.

As part of this significant event, the delegation presented Uzbekistan’s position on combating drugs and exchanging experience with other countries. From 14 to 15 March, they actively participated in discussions on strategies and initiatives aimed at overcoming drug-related challenges, as well as taking part in meetings and side events.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov made a statement at the session, emphasizing the importance of the role of the CND in the global fight against drugs. He expressed his appreciation for Uzbekistan’s partnership with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and emphasized the importance of the national anti-drug strategy as a key priority for our country.

The session also featured side events, including an event on the fight against synthetic drugs, organized by the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors (CARICC).

The UN Permanent Representative in Vienna also spoke at this event, emphasizing the global threat of synthetic drugs, highly appreciating the efforts of CARICC and calling for intensified efforts.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan expressed support for decisive measures and called for further cooperation at the international level.
