Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In recent months, Uzbekistan has opened ten trade missions in nine countries, according to information from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan.
This initiative follows directives given by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in April.
The CCI facilitated the opening of trade houses and warehouses in several key cities, including Qingdao in China, Klaipeda in Lithuania, Doha, Dubai, and Mersin in Türkiye.
Additionally, Uzbek trade houses have begun operations in Port Said, Egypt, and Hanoi, Vietnam.
A pilot trade house of the CCI of Uzbekistan was launched in Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
In Khujand and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the company DIUS PLAST has opened trade houses and warehouses. In Dushanbe, a joint initiative with the "Uzsanoatqurilish" Association and the "Tadjimpex" company established a trade house for construction materials and a multifunctional trade center.
Following the opening of these trade houses, textile exports to Egypt and Vietnam reached $9.5 million, a 6.5-fold increase compared to the previous year.
Additionally, goods worth US$125,000 were exported to Bangladesh and Morocco in 2023. After the opening of specialized warehouses for textile products, exports by September of this year amounted to US$1.5 million.
