Uzbekistan names judo squad for last “Grand Slam”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The last Grand Slam tournament of the Olympic cycle will be held in Kazan (Russian Federation) on 5-7 May. Uzbek judokas will also take part in this competition, who will compete for valuable rating points in Tokyo 2020.

According to the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, 15 of our athletes will take part in the Grand Slam. It should be noted that in the list of participants, we can see some young athletes. According to the decision of the coaching staff, the leaders of our team, who occupy the leading positions in the Olympic rankings, will not participate in the Grand Slam. List of the national team of Uzbekistan, which will take part in the Kazan "Grand Slam":

Men:

-60 kg: Sharofiddin Lutfullaev and Dilshod Baratov

-66 kg: Dilshod Yuldashev and Artyom Shturbabin

-73 kg: Jaloliddin Boynazarov

-81 kg: Sukhrob Tursunov and Giyosjon Boboev

-90 kg: Doston Meiliev and Shermukhammad Jandreev

-100 kg: Muhammadkarim Khurramov

+100 kg: Alisher Yusupov

Women:

-52 kg: Sita Kadambaeva

-70 kg: Gulnoza Matniyazova

-78 kg: Iriskhon Kurbonboeva

+78 kg: Rinata Ilmatova

After this tournament, before the start of the Tokyo Olympics, there is only one competition - the World Championship, which will be held in June. Grand Slam winners have a chance to win 1,000 points for the Olympic and world rankings.
