Uzbekistan moves up in new FIFA ranking
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
FIFA, a world football governing body, announced new ranking of national teams. In line with new ranking, Uzbekistan national team moved eight positions up and now holds 67th place in the world.
Vadim Abramov’s side has 495 points. Uzbekistan holds fifth place in Asia, Uzbekistan Football Federation said.
For the first time for long time, Uzbekistan passed China in ranking. China now holds seventh place in Asia now as Iraq moved to the sixth place.
Japan (19th place), Australia (21th place), South Korea (30th place) and Iran (44th place) are above Uzbekistan in new ranking.
Among the CIS states, Uzbekistan national team is on the fourth place after Russia (13th place), Ukraine (54th place) and Belarus (65th place).
Spain, the Netherlands and Germany are holding the first three places in new FIFA ranking.
