Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A short-term paid paternity leave for working men may be introduced in Uzbekistan, as announced by Deputy Nodir Tilaavoldiev.
According to him, a bill has been submitted to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, proposing amendments to the Labor Code.
Under the initiative, working men will be entitled to five days of paid leave within a month after the birth of a child. This measure is aimed at helping the wife and caring for other children, the deputy noted.
Additionally, the bill includes a provision to amend the Labor Code, allowing employers to transfer an employee to another position or dismiss them if they engage in bullying, violence, or threats against colleagues.
The bill also suggests including individuals who have been victims of domestic violence in the list of socially vulnerable groups. These individuals will receive state guarantees in the form of additional employment support measures.
