Uzbekistan may host Asian Youth Games in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the organization of the IV Summer Asian Games among young people in 2025 in Uzbekistan” has been posted on the regulatory discussion portal, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the document, in 2025 Uzbekistan can host the IV Summer Asian Games among youth and the XXI Summer Asian Games in 2030.

The project also provided information on the participation in September 2019 of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan at the 73rd meeting of the Executive Committee of the Asian Olympic Council, meetings with the President of the Asian Olympic Council Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah and members of the Asian Olympic Council.

At the meeting, the issues of holding the IV Summer Asian Games among youth and the XXI Summer Asian Games in 2030 in Uzbekistan in 2025 were discussed. A 10-minute presentation was held on the holding of the IV Asian Summer Youth Games in Tashkent.

The Asian Olympic Council has agreed to host this prestigious event in Tashkent. It was announced that this issue was considered at the next meeting of the Asian Olympic Council in 2020-2021.

The Asian Summer Games among youth will be held among athletes aged 14-17 from over 40 countries in at least nine sports. The first games took place in 2009 in Singapore, then in 2013 in China, in 2017 in Sri Lanka, they plan to hold them in China in 2021, and in Tashkent and Samarkand in 2025.
