Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 November, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Agency for International Development Cooperation under the Israeli Foreign Ministry (MASHAV) signed a memorandum of understanding.

MASHAV is the responsible body for the development, coordination and implementation of Israel's programs for cooperation in the field of development and humanitarian assistance.

The document envisages the creation of a mechanism for bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture and water management, environmental protection, healthcare, education and other issues of mutual interest in order to exchange experience and knowledge and strengthen the human resources potential of Uzbekistan with the financial support of Israel. It is planned to organize visits of Israeli specialists to Uzbekistan, conduct joint seminars, conferences and trainings, exchange information and best practices.

During the event, an exchange of views took place on issues of further building up bilateral trade, economic, investment, financial and technical cooperation.

Agreements were reached on the establishment of a Business Council between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, the organization of a visit of Israeli business circles to Uzbekistan in order to identify new areas of cooperation and the active participation of Israeli companies in the privatization of state assets in Uzbekistan.
