Uzbekistan marks International Postal Day
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan marks International Postal Day on 9 October. Universal Postal Union was founded on 9 October 1874 and it is now specialized UN agency, regulating postal service.

Universal Postal Union now unites 190 countries worldwide. Uzbekistan became member of the organization in 1994.

The Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information and Uzbekistan Pochtasi presented special postal stamps dedicated to the Day at Museum of Communication History in Tashkent.

Representatives of communication and information industry, Stamp Collectors Society of Uzbekistan, students and other participated at the event.

After the ceremony, participant familiarized with Museum of Communication History, which presents communication development. The museum also organized exhibition of postal stamps and envelopes.

Uzbekistan produced over 800 postal stamps, which reflects development of Uzbekistan, achievements in sport, architecture, fauna and flora, etc.
