Uzbekistan, Malaysia hold political consultations in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Malaysia led by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohd Radzi bin Abdul Rahman has been received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 9 November 2012.

The sides discussed current state and perspectives of the Uzbek-Malaysian dialogue. The sides underlined that they have common positions on actual international problems and common views on challenges to economic, social and ecologic order, as well as ways of their overcoming, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

At the meeting, the sides expressed mutual interest in developing long-term cooperation in trade-economic and investment spheres. Currently, there are 22 joint ventures with Malaysian capital in Uzbekistan. The volume of investments of Malaysia within the implementation of the State investment programme of Uzbekistan exceeded US$225 million.

The sides affirmed their readiness to deepen relation in cultural-humanitarian and education sectors.

On the same, Uzbekistan and Malaysia held the third round of the Uzbek-Malaysian political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

The sides exchanged opinion on bilateral relations, including interaction in multilateral format. They also considered implementation of agreements, achieved during the previous consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two states in December 2010 in Kuala Lumpur. The sides also discussed global and regional issues.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia Abdul Aziz bin Harun participated at the bilateral meetings.
