Uzbekistan launches its first school for entrepreneurs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Startup Garage, Central Asia’s first venture studio, has launched Founders School, an eight-week intensive program for Uzbek entrepreneurs. Participants will acquire skills in building and scaling startups, receive mentorship support, and gain opportunities to secure funding for their projects.

The program is set to launch on 7 April, welcoming both aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs looking to test their ideas, develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), enter the market, and attract initial investments. The most promising startups will be invited to join Startup Garage’s residency program, where they will have the chance to receive seed funding starting at US$10,000.

The program includes:

Classes at Startup Garage in Tashkent and regional centers twice a week
Monthly hands-on workshops
Demo Day, where startups pitch their projects to investors
Exclusive video lessons and materials on startup development

“At Founders School, experienced entrepreneurs help the new generation of startup founders work according to international standards while taking into account the specifics of the local market. This year, we plan to train over 1,000 people, ensuring that the most promising projects can grow and attract international investments,” said Muhammad Khalil, founder of Startup Garage.

As of early March, the school had already received over 200 applications. Participants will gain practical knowledge on launching startups, receive personalized mentorship, and establish direct connections with potential investors and partners, including Aloqa Ventures, which actively invests in Uzbek tech companies.

The launch of Founders School comes amid rapid growth in Uzbekistan’s tech sector, driven by government support for digitalization, an increasing number of entrepreneurs, and growing investor interest.

In just nine months, Startup Garage has become a key player in Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem. The company has established centers in 14 regions, supported over 100 startups, and expanded to the international market by opening an office in Doha, Qatar. This expansion aims to attract international investors and create new opportunities for Uzbek entrepreneurs.
