Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan vow to develop trade relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are planning to boost further development of trade relations based on principles of un-worsening current free-trade regime, attract new goods position with high added value, produced in the countries, support mutual participation of business circles at exhibitions, fairs and other events, a joint statement of two presidents said.

Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed on further improving activity of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation.

The sides ordered their corresponding state bodies to work on issues on further expanding mutual trade and investments, form favourable conditions for transport and transit of foreign trade freight, development of cooperation between small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the results of adopted measures in two states on overcoming consequences of global financial-economic crisis. Sustainable growth of mutual trade, which exceeded pre-crisis figure, was noted.

The sides continue gradual implementation of strategy of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for 2007-2016, which will help for further development of bilateral trade-economic interaction, the document said.

Kazakhstan is among our important partners in this sphere, trade with which has been noteworthy with a dynamic and steady growth.

In 2011, the bilateral trade turnover swelled by 47% to exceed US$2.7 billion. In the first half of 2012, this figure has constituted US$1.4 billion, which grew by 18% year-on-year.
