Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan hold political consultations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Tashkent on 13-14 August 2012.

The parties exchanged opinions on the state and prospective directions of deepening the Uzbek-Kazakh dialogue in political, diplomatic, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres, discussed regional political issues.

+ A schedule of forthcoming meetings at various levels was considered. It was noted that the regular meetings between the heads of the two states, the results of which provide an impetus to the Uzbek-Kazakh relations, form the basis of progressive cooperation development.

A special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing bilateral relations in judicial sphere, joint action against terrorism, religious extremism, organized crime, narcotics trafficking and other transnational threats.

A mutual interest in increasing the bilateral trade volume, which in the last three years increased twofold and in 2011 surpassed US$2.7 billion. Willingness of the parties to boost exchanges between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was confirmed.

Members of the Kazakh delegation, led by deputy foreign minister Amankeldi Zhumabayev were also received at the ministries and organisations, where current issues of interaction were considered.

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Boribay Zheksenbin took part in the consultations.
