Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan discuss trade-economic relations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The twelfth session on joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was held in Tashkent on 29 November 2012.

The delegation of Uzbekistan wase headed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Rustam Azimov, while the delegation of Kazakhstan – by Deputy Prime Minister Krymbek Kusherbaev.

Representatives of state bodies and business circles of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan attended the session of the commission.

The sides discussed issues of cooperation in trade, economy, investment, energy, transport, agriculture and other sectors.

Kazakhstan is one of important partners of Uzbekistan in trade-economic relations. Bilateral trade turnover grew by 47.1% year-on-year in 2011 to US$2.771 billion. The figure made up US$2.258 billion in January-October 2012.

Currently, there are 166 enterprises with Kazakh capital in Uzbekistan, of which 31 companies are with 100% Kazakh investments. At the same time, some 118 enterprises were created in Kazakhstan by residence of Uzbekistan.

Three Kazakh firms accredited their office at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan.
