Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 11 October, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade between Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev and Norihiko Nonaka, the General Representative, Director, and Senior Executive Officer of the Automotive Group at Sumitomo Corporation.

The meeting featured a constructive exchange of views on the prospects for implementing a joint project in the automotive and transport sectors. Discussions focused on creating a logistics center and a free trade zone to facilitate the supply of in-demand vehicles and spare parts for both local and international markets.

Key milestones and practical aspects of the project were outlined, and effective measures for implementation were developed based on a thorough analysis of market capacity, as well as financial, infrastructural, and legal capabilities.

As a result of the negotiations, both parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed on several issues related to the implementation of the discussed project initiatives.
