Uzbekistan, Japan discuss cooperation in reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with representatives of the company “Pacific Consultants”, attracted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

The purpose of the meeting is to assist the government of Uzbekistan in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and establishing their international trade based on the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM).

JCM is a Japanese cooperation system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the introduction of modern technologies in developing countries on the basis of compensation of up to 50%.

It was attended by specialists from the Japanese company Pacific Consultants Ailiya Kali and Nous Daiki.

Pacific Consultants was engaged by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan as part of the project “identifying JCM projects and conducting JCM seminars”, and in October-November this year it is planned to conduct seminars on the JCM mechanism in order to increase the capacity of employees of government agencies and government agencies. and private organizations.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged mutual proposals for organizing this seminar at a high level, and also agreed on organizational issues.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation within the framework of a joint lending mechanism in Uzbekistan.
