Uzbekistan is strengthening the basis of criminal liability for false insolvency and deliberate insolvency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 December, a meeting of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health was held, at which several laws were preliminarily considered that are planned to be included in the agenda of the next plenary meeting.

First, attention is paid to the Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Insolvency”.

The law introduces amendments and additions to the laws and codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, providing for clarification of the signs of insolvency of individuals and legal entities, as well as the grounds for prosecution for violation of insolvency legislation.

In particular, the Criminal Code strengthens the grounds for criminal liability for false insolvency and deliberate insolvency. At the meeting it was noted that the introduction of these norms into practice will make it possible to give a clear legal assessment of the currently existing number of problems associated with false insolvency.

In addition, senators preliminary discussed the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024.” The law approves the parameters of the Consolidated Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024 and budget guidelines for 2025-2026, the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024 and targets for 2025-2026, which serve as the basis for their preparation.

At the meeting, reports were heard from representatives of responsible ministries and departments on specific calculations for spending budget funds allocated to the social sphere, in particular to areas related to science, education and healthcare. In their opinion, specific plans have been prepared for the targeted expenditure of budget funds allocated for 2024, and the process will be regularly monitored.

Several more laws were actively discussed at the Committee meeting, and a corresponding decision was made by the Committee.
