Uzbekistan is preparing to launch Agroexpress to supply fruits and vegetables to Belarus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Belarus agreed to accelerate the mutual expansion of the network of trading houses and logistics centers, promote cooperation projects in engineering, agriculture and other industries. It is also planned to introduce electronic certification of the origin of goods.

In addition, the sides are preparing an agreement on preparations for the launch of Agroexpress between the countries, a project for the accelerated delivery of food.

This topic is raised between Uzbekistan and Belarus is not the first time in recent times. On 24 August, the head of the MIFT, Jamshid Khodjaev, discussed with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayets the supply of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan on Agroexpress, EastFruit reports.

The Agroexpress project was launched by RZD Logistics in 2019. It serves for fast delivery of agricultural products from Russia to foreign markets. Initially, the destination was China, but now the geography of deliveries is expanding.

Uzbekistan joined the project in 2021. The first "Agroexpress" with a pilot batch of food arrived from Tambov (RF) in Tashkent on November 24. Importers noted the better safety of goods compared to vehicles at lower transportation prices.

In February, the EAEU countries approved the Eurasian Agroexpress project. The only country that objected to the project was Kazakhstan - the reasons given were the difference in production costs and the risk of losing market positions, including in Uzbekistan.
