Uzbekistan introduces new rules of goods certification
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev signed a resolution “On additional measures on improving procedures of certification and introduction of quality management system”.

In line with the document, from 1 May 2011, the certification, produced in Uzbekistan to supply export, will be carried out only on voluntary basis. The country also introduces notice order of certification of products.

Uzbekistan is also simplifies certification of imported equipment through acknowledging certificate of conformance, issued by accredited certification bodies of foreign states. In connection with this, the government approved list of states, certificates of which acknowledged in Uzbekistan. The list includes 50 states.

The governmental resolution approved new list of products, which should pass mandatory certification at importing to Uzbekistan. The list includes 76 products. The most significant of them are mineral fuel, oil and oil products, tobacco, cement, weapons and armor, marble, salt, juices and sugar, fertilizers, plastic products, papers for food processing, etc.

Besides, the list includes products from processed vegetables, fruits and nuts, edible oil and fat, flour products, meat and meat produces, pharmaceutical products, soaps, children clothes and foods, toys, ceramic products, vehicles, furniture, lamps, etc.

According to the document, from 1 May Uzbekistan abolishes requirement on payment of regular license payments from the volume of realized certificated products to the certification bodies for use of conformance marks. Instead of these payments, Uzbekistan introduces single payment at the size, which is set by the Finance Ministry.

The document said that Bureau for assisting goods export will be created at the Uzstandard agency. The bureau will render free consulting services for producers on international and country requirements on standards, certificates, branding and packaging goods.

The bureau will also provide information and consultation services to producers to receive necessary information on promotion of their goods to foreign markets.
