Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the end of 2024, new cement production capacity of 8 million tons per year will be commissioned in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the press service of the Uzsanoatkurilishmateriallari Association.
As a result, the total cement production capacity in the country will reach 40.8 million tons per year.
Currently, there are 38 enterprises specializing in cement production in Uzbekistan, with a total annual capacity of 35.3 million tons.
In the period from January to April of this year, 4.8 million tons of cement were produced in Uzbekistan, which is 19.3 percent more than the same period last year.
The largest amount of cement during this period was produced by JSC Kizilkumcement, which supplied consumers with 738,000 tons of products.
The second and third places are occupied by Shina Energy International Group Samarkand Cement LLC and Huaksin Cement Jizak LLC, which together produced 1 million 166 thousand tons of cement.
In 2024, enterprises plan to produce 16.7 million tons of cement.
It should be noted that in 2023, the demand for cement in Uzbekistan amounted to 16.8 million tons. Local enterprises mainly produce cement grades 400 and 500.
