Uzbekistan Infrastructure 2010 ends series of industrial exhibitions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International inter-industry specialised exhibition “Uzbekistan Infrastructure 2010” was held at the Uzexpocentre in Tashkent on 16-18 November 2010.

This year, the project brought together three exhibitions under one roof - the 6th Uzbekistan International Exhibition for Automobiles, Spare Parts and Service Equipment “Auto&Parts Uzbekistan 2010”, the 7th Uzbekistan International Exhibition for Transport & Logistics “TransUzbekistan 2010” and the 2nd Uzbekistan International Road Building & Machinery Exhibition “UzComak 2010”.

The exhibitions were organised by the international exhibition company ITE Uzbekistan, a member of UFI and its partner ITE Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd. (UK).

Today, Uzbekistan is one of the few countries which, despite the global economic downturn, has continued to introduce a number of investment projects related to infrastructure development, namely: the development and construction of railways and airports, and the development and modernisation of means of communication.

Government policy to addressing these objectives is reflected by over twenty infrastructure projects. As an example, one can cite the Concept for the Development of Public Roads in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2007-2010.

Currently, a programme is being finalised to accelerate the development of infrastructure, and transport and communications construction in 2011-2015. It will provide for the accelerated implementation of projects to create a unified national automobile transport system, the expansion of construction and the reconstruction of four-lane roads that form part of the Uzbek national highway. Within the programme, it is also planned to reconstruct the road through the Kamchik pass, and further develop and modernise rail transport.

These ambitious infrastructure development projects provide new opportunities for expanding international cooperation and attracting both technological and financial resources.

The exhibitions held within Uzbekistan Infrastructure in 2010 once again demonstrate the interest of foreign companies in the promising market of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Infrastructure 2010 presented more than 70 companies from 20 countries, including Belarus, Germany, India, Iran, China, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, UAE, Poland, Russia, Singapore, USA, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

Each exhibition fully reflects the overall concept of the Uzbekistan Infrastructure project, which combines three important structural areas of infrastructure.

Auto&Parts Uzbekistan 2010 is the only specialised exhibition for the automotive industry in Uzbekistan. The show demonstrates the latest new products in the market, including car parts, accessories, components, oils, chemicals and much more.

This year was no exception, with the exhibitors at Auto&Parts Uzbekistan 2010 including a number of well-known manufacturers, both those already known in Uzbekistan and new entrants to the country’s automotive market.

TransUzbekistan 2010 is one of the strategic exhibitions of ITE Uzbekistan. Holding this event in Tashkent is fully justified, since the geo-strategic position of Uzbekistan and its unique transit potential allows the country to play an important role in the development of international routes.

This year’s exhibition was headed by the stand of Uzbekistan Railways. This is one of the major companies in the country, whose annual cargo turnover is about 90% of the total cargo turnover of all modes of transport.

UzComak 2010 was launched last year and has proved its relevance. This year, the exhibition has doubled in size, bringing together about 30 companies.

The exhibitions within Uzbekistan Infrastructure 2010 provided exhibitors and industry professionals with an opportunity to personally discuss the professional aspects of their activities and share practical experiences in the modernisation and construction of national and international road networks, and repair and maintenance of transport facilities.
