The Indonesian entrepreneurs representing about 10 companies received detailed information on the priorities for attracting investment in the economy of Uzbekistan. They got acquainted with the wide-scale privatization process in Uzbekistan, as well as development of small business and private enterprise, UzA reported.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda said Uzbekistan had favorable investment environment and necessary conditions for foreign investors.
"Indonesia pays a great attention to cooperation with Uzbekistan," Hasan Wirayuda said. "We are particularly interested in expanding trade-economic and investment ties."
Uzbekistan exports to Indonesia plastics and plastic products, cotton fiber, fruit and vegetables and other products. Indonesia has been supplying Uzbekistan with mechanical and electronic equipment, ferrous metals, foodstuffs and other products.
The business forum participants discussed trade-economic and investment cooperation, development of ties in banking and finance, energy and mineral resources, telecommunications and tourism, attracting Indonesian companies to the privatization process in the country.
