Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The government of Uzbekistan has amended the Rules for the import and export of cash foreign currency by individuals across the border of Uzbekistan.

From 6 December, without being indicated in the customs declaration, it will be possible to import and export cash currency in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of 100 million soums ($8,230 at the moment of publication). Now it is possible to import or export cash in the amount of 70 million soums.

Now, for consultation, individuals can present cash to customs officers in excess of the specified limit before customs control. In this case, customs officials explain to them the rules for filling out the declaration.

Last time Uzbekistan increased the limit on the import and export of foreign currency in September 2020.
