Uzbekistan increases prices for electricity and gas for legal entities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is increasing prices for electricity and gas for large enterprises, budget organizations, companies and other legal entities from 1 October 2023. At the same time, tariffs for the population remain unchanged.

On 15 September, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on the phased introduction of market mechanisms in the fuel and energy sector.

According to the document, the cost of 1 kWh of electricity for consumers of groups I and II - Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Plant, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, Uzbek Metallurgical Plant and their structural enterprises, budgetary organizations, as well as pumping stations - will increase from 450 to 1000 soums.

For other legal entities (companies), the cost of 1 kWh of electricity will increase from 450 to 900 soums.

At the same time, the cost of 1 kWh of electricity for the population remains at 295 soums.

For household consumers living in apartment buildings and dormitories centrally equipped with electric stoves for cooking, the tariff remains at 147.5 soums.

The cost of 1 cubic meter of natural gas supplied to the population remains at 380 soums and liquefied gas - 1,120 soums.

In the absence of meters, a cubic meter of gas supplied for cooking and hot water supply will cost 660 soums and for heating - from 380 soums.

The cost of 1 cubic meter of gas for Navoi MMC, Almalyk MMC, Uzmetkombinat and budgetary organizations will increase from 660 to 1800 soums. Other legal entities will pay 1,500 soums for 1 cubic meter of gas.
