Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January 2025, Uzbekistan significantly increased its peanut exports, shipping 1,384 tons of the product abroad, amounting to US$1.5 million. This information was provided by the country’s Statistics Agency.

The primary export destinations were both neighboring and distant countries. Pakistan emerged as the leading importer, purchasing 496.9 tons of Uzbek peanuts. Kazakhstan ranked second with 343.1 tons, followed by Russia with 145.4 tons.

Other major importers included Afghanistan (74.7 tons) and China (60 tons). The remaining countries collectively imported 263.8 tons of peanuts.

Peanut exports remain an important source of income for Uzbekistan’s agro-industrial sector. The growing export volumes reflect the increasing demand for Uzbek farmers’ products in international markets.

Analysts highlight that further development of export potential in this sector could help strengthen Uzbekistan’s economic ties with key trading partners.
