The Uzbek leader Islam Karimov inked a resolution “On introduction of changes and amendments to some resolutions of the President of Uzbekistan”. The duties entered into force from 1 April.
In line with the document, import duty for the vehicles with engine volume of 1,000 cubic centimeters set at the size of 30% of customs price of the vehicle plus US$1.8 per a cubic centimeter. Earlier, the duty rate was 20% plus US$1.8.
The duty for the vehicles with engine volume from 1,000 cubic centimeters to 1,500 cubic centimeters established at the size of 30% plus US$2 per a cubic centimeter (earlier 20% plus US$2 per a cubic centimeter).
Import duty for the vehicles with engine volume from 1,500 cubic centimeters to 3,000 cubic centimeters increased from 20% plus US$2.5 per a cubic meter to 30% plus US$2.5.
Importers will have to pay import duty for 30% plus US$3 per a cubic meter for importing of vehicle with engine volume of over 3,000 cubic meters. Earlier, the duty rate was 20% plus US$3.
The resolution also set customs duty for used vehicles (3 years since production), which is now set at 40% plus US$ per a cubic meter.
