Uzbekistan increased its gold reserves by 154 tons between 2013 and 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan ranked sixth among countries actively increasing their gold reserves from 2013 to 2023, according to data from the World Gold Council published by RBC. Russia holds the largest amount of gold in its reserves.

According to the Council, Uzbekistan expanded its gold reserves by 154 tons over the ten-year period.

The top three countries include Russia with 1,300 tons of gold, China with 1,200 tons, and Turkey with 424 tons. Kazakhstan holds seventh place with 151 tons.

Thailand was the least active in gold acquisition, ranking tenth with 92 tons.

Research by the World Gold Council shows that approximately 29% of central banks plan to increase their gold reserves by 2025, a record figure since 2018.
