Uzbekistan increased electricity production by 4.65% in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan’s electricity production increased by 4.65% compared to 2023, reaching 81.29 billion kWh, according to data from the Statistics Agency.

Large enterprises in the country generated 70.78 billion kWh in 2024, which is 8.1% less than last year.

At the same time, small businesses demonstrated significant growth, increasing electricity production from 625.4 million kWh in 2023 to 10.51 billion kWh in 2024.

The volume of heat energy production in the country decreased by 6.2%, totaling 22.8 million Gcal.

Uzbekistan also significantly increased its electricity exports, which amounted to US$115.9 million in 2024, a 51.3% increase compared to 2023.

Meanwhile, electricity imports in 2024 totaled US$121.9 million, which is 0.3% more than in 2023.
