Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to October 2024, Uzbekistan imported natural gas worth US$1.365 billion, according to the Agency for Statistics.
During the reporting period, the volume of gas imports increased by 2.4 times compared to the same period in 2023. In October 2024 alone, natural gas purchases amounted to US$87 million.
The monthly distribution of gas imports was as follows: January: US$35.6 million, February: US$131.1 million, March: US$193.6 million, April: US$102.6 million, May: US$108.4 million, June: US$166.3 million, July: US$174.2 million, August: US$168.3 million and September: US$126.3 million
Oil and petroleum product imports during the same period also increased, reaching over US$1.66 billion—a 33.3% rise compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
Exports of oil and petroleum products rose by 94.6%, amounting to US$504.4 million. Meanwhile, gas exports grew by 17.9%, totaling US$540.4 million.
